Days 5-9: Sanur and Nusa Lembongan

Days 10-14: Kuta

Days 1-4: Ubud

Ubud, a serene haven in the heart of Bali, is known for its lush rice terraces, vibrant art scene, and tranquil atmosphere. What makes Ubud unique is its mix of rich cultural experiences, laid-back charm, and natural beauty, all offered at an affordable price. Whether you’re looking to unwind by a pool or immerse yourself in Bali’s spiritual traditions, Ubud offers the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.

What we did (and what we highly recommend you don’t miss):
Day 1: Explore the Ubud Art Market, lounge by the pool, and enjoy dinner at Sugriwa’s with our first taste of nasi campur.
Day 2: Visit to Ubud Palace, more poolside relaxation, and dinner at Sun Sun Warung, one of our favorite restaurants in Ubud.
Day 3: Full-day private driver tour to Tegalalang Rice Terrace, Tirta Empul Temple, Kanto Lampo Waterfall, Tegenungan Waterfall, and a delicious dinner at Nomad.
Day 4: Exercise by taking the Campuhan Ridge Walk, check out the Sacred Monkey Forest, and watch a traditional Kecak dance performance to end the trip.
Don’t miss the nasi campur at Sun Sun Warung and the chicken satay at Nomad—they were unforgettable!

Where we stayed:
We stayed at Hartaning House by Prima Villas, a cozy budget hotel with rustic rooms right in the city center. At only $35 CAD per night (for five nights), it was an absolute steal. The rooms were small, with minimalistic washrooms, but we had no issues throughout our stay, and the pool was a perfect escape after exploring.

– Total spent (Approximate CAD, 2 people): VISAs $86 + Accommodations for 5 nights $174 + Activities (and associated fees and tips) $107 + Food $164 + Transportation (the ride from Denpasar airport to our Ubud hotel) $22 = TOTAL $554 (Roughly $55 per person, per day)

Perfect for a quick visit, Sanur provides a glimpse into Bali’s serene charm.

Just a short boat ride from Sanur, Nusa Lembongan is a stunning island escape known for its crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and relaxed island vibes. This tropical paradise boasts pristine beaches like Dream Beach and Mushroom Bay, along with breathtaking viewpoints such as Devil’s Tear, where waves crash dramatically against rugged cliffs. Whether snorkeling with marine life (think giant manta rays), exploring lush mangroves, or simply soaking in the island’s beauty, Nusa Lembongan is a perfect destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

Days 10-14: Kuta

Kuta is a bustling destination known for its lively energy, beginner-friendly surf spots, and incredible sunsets. A mix of shopping, thrilling water parks, and tranquil beach moments make Kuta the perfect destination for those seeking a little bit of everything.

– What we did (and what we highly recommend you don’t miss):
Day 1: Relax by the pool at the Kana Kuta Hotel, dip your toes into the sand at Kuta Beach. For dinner, we loved Pandan Kuring Restaurant, where $15 CAD got us an Indonesian feast with bottomless iced tea, chips, and sambal.
Day 2: Shop at Beachwalk Shopping Center and the Kuta Art Market. Have a fantastic lunch at Poppies Restaurant ($25 CAD for two).
Day 3: Take it slow (we were hoping to release baby turtles with the Bali Sea Turtle Society – unfortunately, none were ready). Instead, we relaxed by the pool and wandered through a local mall.
Day 4: Play like kids at Waterbom Bali, Asia’s best water park, where we spent $119 CAD on tickets, lunch, and lockers. Dinner at Warung Damar was a highlight, with delicious local dishes and a passionfruit dessert ($20 CAD for two).
Day 5: Wrap up your two weeks in Bali with a classic beach day at Kuta Beach, sipping fresh coconuts ($3 CAD each) and surfing on the beginner-friendly waves ($5 CAD surfboard rental for two hours). Dinner at Fat Chow ($17 CAD for two) was the perfect way to close out our time in Kuta.
